President Hinckley and funny kids

We were so happy to hear that our beloved Prophet could return home peacefully to our Savior and his dear wife. Gordon B Hinckley will always hold a special place in our hearts. We were greatful to have the opportunity to teach Landon about Returning to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus and have it be a happy thing instead of a sad situation.

I hold dear one of my favorite memories of the Prophet in November of 2000 when he gave his famous fireside where he introduced the 6 Bs and said a special prayer over the pulpit for the youth of this church. I was sitting in the Cannon Center building on BYU Hawaii's campus for the fireside and listening to the Prophet council against tatoos and body piercing. It was a good experience for me because just a few weeks earlier I had been in Honolulu with some friends where they tried talking me into getting a second piercing in my ears. It was something I had wanted to do in High School but my mom was always against more than one earing hole because she said when you have more than one piercing it was too worldly. While in Honolulu at the mall I was really tempted to go ahead with the second piercing but couldn't get my mom's voice out of my head suggesting that multiple piercings seemed so "worldly" so I didn't do it. When I heard the Prophet council against it an overwhelming feeling of happiness overcame me. I was so happy the following weeks as I knew girls who were removing second and third earings that I didn't have any to remove. I hope I can be a "mother who knows."

On a lighter note, my kids have been exeptionally funny lately.

Colter has learned to come and say, "oooh, poop" while pointing to his bum to let me know he is stinky.
He is also turning into a little jabber mouth with No, Yes, Mom, Coat and Boots. He ALWAYS wants to go outside.
His favorite toys are anything to do with Lightening Mcqueen where he walks around saying "broom broom" and He LOVES football. He wants to where jamies that have footballs on them.
He is a little OCD which Kyle insists comes from me. He has to have his shirt alsways pulled down to his wrists, and same with pj pants, no crawling up it drives him crazy. He freaks out when Kyle trys to mix match his jamies and says, No No No and shows Kyle the right bottoms for the right tops. He cannot get his hands dirty.
Landon, oh where to beign. the other day we were driving to grandma's and I was driving because Kyle wanted me to pull the four wheelers behind our Explorer to make sure I was "comfortable" pulling a trailor. Landon said to Kyle, "dad, are you driving"? Kyle of course said, "no, mom is" then Landon said, "if you're not driving then why are you telling mom how to drive." I must say it was hilarious. Those Castle side seat drivers!!!!!
The other night we went in late to make sure the boys were covered up and we found Landon had crawled in Colter's crib and gone to sleep with his arm wrapped around Colter. So we had both bunk beds empty and both boys cozy in the crib together. Then next morning Landon insisted Colter was scared and asked him to sleep with him. Landon is our little scaredy pants.
While watching the food network this week (I'm kind of obsessed) Landon saw them pour a glass of red wine to drink with the finished product and he said, "that drink looks delicious"! Yikes, better let him have more soda so he doesn't feel deprived and go for something stronger.

Anyway, for some of you that may have been super boring but I'm trying to be better about recording these little events in our lives.

Jill, super sweet story about Landon climbing in Colter's crib to "protect" him! It warmed my heart just reading it! You have such sweet little boys...they get it from their mom. (No offense Kyle. :) )
