He is such a big boy. We kind of had sparatic parties for him this last week so we didn't really do anything special yesterday, it was sad we'd been awake for like an hour before I remembered it was his birthday. F+ mom ! Well, he had a huge birthday party with all of his cousins who have early March birthdays then we did a little small one with the Castles during the week while Nica was here so he did have a good birthday even though it wasn't on his actual birthday. We are crossing our fingers for another boy but I know I could easily pull out the nail polish and hair ribbons pretty fast. I met with my physician today and it was a pretty emotional experience because I am seeing someone new since my FAVORITE doctor and good friend went on leave of absence this year. I sobbed the whole way to my appointment and then ended up absolutely LOVING my new Dr. It's actually okay because my new dr. Dr. Jones was the assisting physician on both my previous C-sections and my old dr. Dr. Lawrence, called my mom this week and told her to tell me she'd for sure be assisting her partner Dr. Jones in this C-section. So really it's the same team and I love them both so I was all emotional for nothing (that's pregnancy for you). Anyway, I hate first trimester and am counting down the days til I feel better. Will I ever have a clean house again, will my kids ever be fed a well balanced meal again (Colter downed half a bag of doritos today) and will I ever be able to eat again without the dread of seeing it again in an hour in the toilet?????? Please someone remind me that this part eventually goes away!!!! Well, I need to go now because I forgot to pop my tums after dinner and I'm starting to feel pretty yucky, and then I will retire to the couch for the rest of the night and watch my poor husband slave away at all the stuff I couldn't get done today. Bless his heart!!

Bad-To-The-Bone!

This one almost scares me a little bit.

So the pictures Kyle took of Landon's mow hawk, totally didn't do it justice so I made Landon let me take some pics of him today before we shave it off tomorrow. He was so embarrassed of me making him stand in our yard and pose for me. Landon of course is ecstatic and calls it his "sweet rock star hair" then of course when Colter woke up he wanted his hair to look like Landon's. Luckily I got by without buzzing the sides with Colter. So I told Landon he can keep it until Saturday then he has to get it cut off for church. Hopefully by then he'll be sick of his "sweet rock star hair."

better late than never.......

This is from back in January but Kyle was sad that I never blogged it so here it is. So the other day it was just one of those days where the whole day had just kind of gone to pot, it was 3 pm, we were all still in our jamies with no where to go and nothing to do because of all of this snow. Anyway, because of the weather Kyle had been working from home and he was doing somethings on his computer and Landon and I were playing baseball. I just sat in one place and threw the ball to him for probably an hour while he would hit it and run around the pretend bases. We'd cheer and do the wave and I could tell Kyle was totally getting bugged that we were having so much fun without him. So a few minutes later Kyle says, "Landon let's go play baseball in the other room" and he takes the stuff and leaves me there and I'm like are you seriously jealous that me and Landon were having so much fun you have to take my game away? So they're in the other room for a little bit and I hear Landon say, "dad, I think Mom is a better pitcher." Needless to say Kyle was a little put out upon learning the hard truth, his wife is a better athlete than him, or at least a better pitcher to our four year old. So I took some pictures to remember this funny event and I love them because Landon is holding my old mit from little girls softball, in the palm of the mit you can still see where I wrote jill b. it's so cute.

Toes in Sand

Just experimenting with some photoshop I wante to try mixing the black and white with the color, not sure how I like it. Gordon B Hinckley will always hold a special place in our hearts. We were greatful to have the opportunity to teach Landon about Returning to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus and have it be a happy thing instead of a sad situation.

I hold dear one of my favorite memories of the Prophet in November of 2000 when he gave his famous fireside where he introduced the 6 Bs and said a special prayer over the pulpit for the youth of this church. I was sitting in the Cannon Center building on BYU Hawaii's campus for the fireside and listening to the Prophet council against tatoos and body piercing. It was a good experience for me because just a few weeks earlier I had been in Honolulu with some friends where they tried talking me into getting a second piercing in my ears. It was something I had wanted to do in High School but my mom was always against more than one earing hole because she said when you have more than one piercing it was too worldly. While in Honolulu at the mall I was really tempted to go ahead with the second piercing but couldn't get my mom's voice out of my head suggesting that multiple piercings seemed so "worldly" so I didn't do it. When I heard the Prophet council against it an overwhelming feeling of happiness overcame me. I was so happy the following weeks as I knew girls who were removing second and third earings that I didn't have any to remove. I hope I can be a "mother who knows."

On a lighter note, my kids have been exeptionally funny lately.

Colter has learned to come and say, "oooh, poop" while pointing to his bum to let me know he is stinky.
He is also turning into a little jabber mouth with No, Yes, Mom, Coat and Boots. He ALWAYS wants to go outside.
His favorite toys are anything to do with Lightening Mcqueen where he walks around saying "broom broom" and He LOVES football. He wants to where jamies that have footballs on them.
He is a little OCD which Kyle insists comes from me. He has to have his shirt alsways pulled down to his wrists, and same with pj pants, no crawling up it drives him crazy. He freaks out when Kyle trys to mix match his jamies and says, No No No and shows Kyle the right bottoms for the right tops. He cannot get his hands dirty.
Landon, oh where to beign. the other day we were driving to grandma's and I was driving because Kyle wanted me to pull the four wheelers behind our Explorer to make sure I was "comfortable" pulling a trailor. Landon said to Kyle, "dad, are you driving"? Kyle of course said, "no, mom is" then Landon said, "if you're not driving then why are you telling mom how to drive." I must say it was hilarious. Those Castle side seat drivers!!!!!
The other night we went in late to make sure the boys were covered up and we found Landon had crawled in Colter's crib and gone to sleep with his arm wrapped around Colter. So we had both bunk beds empty and both boys cozy in the crib together. Then next morning Landon insisted Colter was scared and asked him to sleep with him. Landon is our little scaredy pants.
While watching the food network this week (I'm kind of obsessed) Landon saw them pour a glass of red wine to drink with the finished product and he said, "that drink looks delicious"! Yikes, better let him have more soda so he doesn't feel deprived and go for something stronger.

Anyway, for some of you that may have been super boring but I'm trying to be better about recording these little events in our lives.

Mexico 2007 Highlights!

My beautiful green eyed boy Cute little Lincoln

                                                                    My sweet little sister
                                                                           Colter Baby

                                                                     My Favorite Boys
                                                                                Friends

I was sick of broken arm pictures so here are some pictures from Mexico.

The Hard Cast!

Colter's pins GROSS I know, there is actually one more but it's been pushed in too far to see. Only 3 weeks left! We are so happy to finally have a hard cast. He was so good and so brave, we are so proud of him. He loves showin off his arm too, it's so cute, he holds it up and shows everyone. I'm so disappointed that after all these years of putting kids in casts they haven't come up with some better colors. I swear our choices were green pink and baby blue. We went with the green because it matches "blanky." Anyway, Colter is running around and wrestling again and I'm just waiting for a new injury as a result to Colter's new weapon. I usually feel so refreshed and motivated. Anyway, my new motivation these last few days lead us to buying the boys their first set of bunk beds and redoing their bedroom. They are so excited about their beds however this month has taken a slightly different turn then what we thought.

Last night we were upstairs in the boys room assembling their beds and to make a long story short Colter fell and broke his elbow. I know your thinking, 'what didn't he just barely hurt his elbow not even a month ago'. Yes, he did. Landon and Colter love to playing in Colter's bed and I had just lowered the railing on the crib so Landon and his cousin could climb out by themselves when a few minutes after they were out of the crib Colter took a backwards fall before I had raised the rail back up into place. I was right by the crib when Colter fell but still by the time I got to him to pick him up he was on his back and his arm was twisted. I'll save you the gory details of how I instantly knew it was broken because honestly I'm trying to forget how awful it was.

Within a half an hour we were in the ER getting x rays, thank goodness they were quick with us. After x rays they called in an Orthopedic surgeon to come and look at the x rays and talk to us. We ended up being sent up to Primary Children's Hospital for surgery. They told us Colter had broken through about 7 growth plates and needed to have surgery. We arrived up at Primary Children's at about 9:30 pm last night and almost exactly 12 hours later this morning he was wheeled back for surgery. Let's just say it was a LONG night. Enjoy!

Dear Santa,

I’ve been a good mom all year. I’ve feed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor’s office more than my doctor, sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground.

I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases since I had to write this letter with my son’s red crayon on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles and who knows when I’ll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I’d like a pair of legs that don’t ache (in any color except purple which I already have). And arms that don’t hurt or flap in the breeze; but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.

I’d also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.

If you’re hauling big ticket items this year I’d like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn’t broadcast any programs containing talking animals and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side I could use a talking doll that says, “yes, Mommy” to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don’t fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting “don’t eat in the living room” and “take your hands off your brother,” because my voice seems to be just out of my children’s hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.

If it’s too late to find any of these products, I’d settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don’t mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don’t catch colt. Help yourself to cookies on the table but don’t eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always, Mom….!

P.S. One more thing…you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa.

I've Been Tagged!

The rules:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I like a clean house, however what I like and what is reality are not always the same. I think I've accepted the fact that no matter how many times a day I try to get it perfect, my kids are walking, talking messes. But one thing is for sure, I am ANAL about my kitchen floor! I mop it at least three times a week on my hands and knees. I have a certain pattern I follow and I even time myself to see how fast I did it. It's bad enough Landon is always telling people to take off their shoes becasue we "just mopped" but even my two year old niece walked in the other day with her mom and said, "mom we have to take our shoes off, because Jill mopped her floor." What can I say, I love my dark walnut kitchen floor but I hate it dirty.

2. I am a midnight snacker! I have been since I was a little girl, I am getting better now that Kyle has made so much fun of me. However, if I get up with a child during the night after I get them back down I sneak downstairs and have a small treat before I go back up to bed. When I'm pregnant I have grahm crackers and milk almost every night. Last night it was a little reeses peanut butter cup. But I'm fast and I just eat a tiny bit and I fall right back asleep most of the time.

3. I LOVE the cooking channel!!!! I love watching Giadia on Every Day Italian, I have learned so much and have got some great reciepes. When Colter goes down for his nap and Landon gets ready for quiet time he says, " are we going to watch the cooking lady." I love to cook, I love reciepes, I love Williams Sanoma, and can't wait to one day have my dream kitchen!!!

4. Another TV confession.... I watch a ton of tv series on DVDs, it's the best thing for folding laundry or doing a deep kitchen scrub. I have a mini DVD player that follows me around the house on cleaning days, I love listening in the background while I'm cleaning. I always turn it off if my kids are wanting my attention, but if they're occupied and I have to clean a bathroom, or get a pile of laundry folded I take my little dvd player with me so I can listen to it while I clean. For some reason, it makes me work faster and it makes it not so tedious.

5. I love winter strictly because of clothing options. I did two semesters at BYU hawaii and almost died of boredom with my wardrobe. I love winter because of all the cute clothes. I like putting on hats and coats with cute boots and going out. So if that's what gets me through the long winter so be it.

6. I love my family, I love being a mom and I love having boys! I would be totally content to have all boys. I would rather sit through hundreds of basketball games, than 1 dance recital. I am totally willing however to take back everything I just said if I have a girl next.

Okay, Lindsay, Nica, Katie, Taya, Natalie, and Nicole your tagged.

Back Off Ducks!!

I wanted to get pictures of my boys all prepped out in the snow so we went down to the duck pond and there were TONS of ducks out. Just a side note, Kyle spent like an hour finding her on the internet and finding out who and what she really is. For the record, she has lost some clothing over the years and I blame it completely on the Lightens.

Anyway, Sunday night Colter got hurt wrestling with Kyle and his little elbow popped out of place. Unfortunately this exact same thing happened to Landon exactly one year ago. So last year when it happened to Landon and I took him in to the Dr. they showed me how to pop it back in place in case it happened again (gross!!!!!!). Anyway, to make a VERY long story short it took me trying to get it back in place a couple of times then the PA across the street, then a visit to the Dr and a visit to the hospital for x rays to FINALLY get it back in place. It was sooooo sad and very exhausting. Basically the Dr. called me on my cell phone and told me he was sorry it was so hard but with how "healthy" AKA "chubby" Colter's little arms are it was hard to re set. So so sad.
Anyway, when we got home it took me like a half hour to figure out what Colter wanted me to do with these band aids. I knew he wanted band aids because he kept saying "be be" and pointing to his finger which always means he wants a band aid wrapped around his finger. Anyway, after wrapping each finger and putting some up his "good" arm, (he wouldn't let me touch his hurt arm) I still couldn't figure out why he wasn't happy. Finally I discovered first of all he wanted all Spiderman band aids and after we took off all the band aids he decided he wanted them on his tummy. When I pulled out my camera he immediately lifted up his shirt so I could get a picture. He is so funny and we're happy to report his arm is totally back to normal and he is wrestling again.

She-Hulk

Here she is the infamous "She-Hulk" - actual name

We need to establish the "She-Hulk's" Providence.

Who was the first to receive her and what year was it.

Who was the next person and what year was it etc.

If she is too continue on in to infamy we need to know her full history.

And for the record I won her fair and square. After the party, during clean up Geoff convinced his grandchildren to steal the She-Hulk from me. After I thoroughly beat each child up, as they tried to take her from me. I think it was one of Rich and Lisa's sons, who was successful in stealing her from me. He then gave it to Geoff and I witnessed Geoff open his wallet pay him for his thievery.

For those of you who are not part of the illustrious Gale and Maxine Bullock family. This action figure has been circulating around the family for years. Each Christmas we have a family party that includes a "white elephant" gift exchange and she was given one year and showed up again the next. She has been the coveted item for years. For the past couple of years Geoff has held her captive, and was willing to sell his sole in return for her.

Needless to say, I will have her under lock and key until next years party.

In the mean time - let's figure out how long she has been in the family.

GO KYLE!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to brag about my awesome husband! Before you all start gagging you should know that I don't compliment my husband nearly as much as I should so I need to make up for it.

First of all as you all know being in the mortgage business these past 6 months hasn't been that exciting. But through it all Kyle has still worked his hardest and tried to maintain a positive attitude during this "market crisis." These last 6 weeks Kyle has been enrolled in a course to get his appraisers liscense which has been every Tuesday and Thursday until 10pm, and Saturdays 8-5 he was also just called to be the financial clerk in our ward just in time for tithing settlement which has pretty much meant he's gone all afternoon on Sundays as well. So with Kyle gone this last month and a half almost 65 hours a week it has taken it's toll on our family and we are excited to say that tomorrow is his last test and he will be done with his class!!!!! Hooray!!!! We are excited to have him back on Saturdays!! I know for some of you like Katie and Sarah these hours are pretty normal and I salute you because I'm sure it has been tough!!! On top of Kyle now being a liscensed appraiser (without the hours still of course) he had some slam dunk deals go through this month with his "real job" (commercial loans) and has earned the company rewards trip beginning of next year!!! Hooray! We are so excited we get to go on a cruise the end of February to the Eastern Carribbean! I'm just so proud of him for all of his hard work these last couple of months especially because it hasn't been easy and he has been amazing. So, just wanted to brag about my cute little husband who single handedly just brought in almost 200,000 dollars to his company in just one month and earned us a nice relaxing trip next year! After the rest of his tests tomorrow we can sit back, enjoy the holidays and get ready for our family trip to Mexico! Yea!!!! Everything from preparing Thanksgiving food to the BYU vs UTAH game was so much fun it was a memorable weekend and a lot to be thankful for. It started out with Wednesday night taking down the Thanksgiving decor and putting up our little Christmas tree.
We decided it would be fun to start a family tradition where the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving everyone got to make a bed down by the TV and have a movie night and family sleepover under the Christmas tree. So, the boys got to bring their mattresses down and pop popcorn and watch Rudolph and Frosty with me and Kyle under the tree. SO fun, although we did end up putting everyone in their beds later that night we'll have to try the actual sleepover when they're a bit older.
Colter sitting in "time out" he is so good, he really sits there until you tell him he can get out. I think he was hitting or something, I don't remember I just thought this was a cute picture.
The boys loved decorating the tree, and every time an ornament falls off Colter runs over to hang it back up. We won't be cutting down our big tree this year seeing as we are going to Mexico but the boys are having a blast even with the little one, they always want it lit up and Colter gives it hugs. Love this time of year.

Hanging of the stokings is always my favorite part of Christmas decorating and of course the boys loved getting to put up their very own stockings.

Milestones

I am so proud of my little landon. the other day he brought me this piece of paper with my name on it that he wrote all by himself. I thought it was so dang cute and I was so proud of him I told him I'd keep it forever and ever. He is getting so big now writing his own name and working on writing Dad. he can spell his whole name but stumbles up a little when we get to Castle. , I also learned that he knows the pledge of allegiance when one night in prayer he said, "and to the republic for which it stands." He is so rambuncious, loves tools, sports, trucks and anything and everything BOYISH! We LOVE being a boy family! He has been practicing football all week in prep for our Thanksgiving family football game.

Colter the last couple of weeks has become our little artist. He will find any scrap of paper he can and take a pen and draw. It is so cute, he lays down on his tummy on our kitchen floor and will just be in his own little world. His record is a straight 40 mins of drawing, that's an incredible attention span compared to my older son! Colter this week has also spouted out a few more words, ma ma and da da are regulars now, mooooo whenever he sees a picture of a cow. Ut oh and owie have been around for a while but his newest one is "banana" in the grocery store today he saw the bananas and went crazy, "nana nana nana." Also this week he blurted out a very strong,"NO" to me which is a first, most of the time I just get a head shake. He is growing up so fast.

entertainment

I swear I am never bored, my kids are so entertaining. This is Landon going to his very first "late-over" he got invited to his buddies down the street 6 th b-day party. He was so excited he got to wear his jamies and take his pillow and blanket and they had a pizza and movie party. Then when I wanted to take his picture of course Colter had to go stand right in front of him because anytime he sees the camera he likes to get front and center. We bought Colter these footsie pajamas because he ALWAYS kicks his covers off at night and then in the morning his legs feel like ice. Anyway, the only size we could find was 3T so their all scrunched up at the bottom and then of course his face is covered in pizza sauce and he had to wear Landon's belt just to add the the whole ensamble. Seriously they crack me up.
